Overview

Amie is invigorated by the challenge of resolving complex legal issues. And with a variety and wealth of experience, she approaches her cases with an excitement about her ability to set the course straight and bring justice and a sense of finality to veterans.

Amie has over a decade of experience in veterans law representing veterans at the agency level as an AmeriCorps Legal Fellow in New York City, litigating appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, and serving as a law clerk and senior law clerk at the Court.

She discovered veterans law through the Veterans Legal Clinic at the John Marshall Law School in Chicago (now, The University of Illinois Chicago). She joined the veteran’s legal clinic not long after the passing of her father, a Marine and Vietnam War veteran who fought the Tet Offensive, including the Battle of Huế. Joining the clinic was also a great honor to her grandfather, a World War II Marine who was present at the flag raising at Iwo Jima. Being raised by a Marine and Vietnam veteran revealed to Amie the many battles that an individual and a family unit can face after military service and war, and it has inspired her commitment to serving those who have served our country. And as the daughter of a pediatric and ICU nurse, service to others is engrained in Amie’s character.

From a young age, Amie has been committed to excellence, winning, and improving the human condition. As a collegiate swimmer and team captain, she learned the value of discipline, perseverance, and helping others succeed. As a senior student athlete, she received the Willinsky Award, awarded by her fellow student athletes as the individual who consistently undertook to understand and improve the human condition.

Her practice is grounded in direct, honest communication and a genuine ability to connect with veterans and their families. She is committed to providing effective and practical advocacy that helps her clients achieve the best possible outcomes and that aims to improve the system at large. And since Amie was born and raised in New Jersey, she is happy to return home to New Jersey to continue her service.
